Percussionist
Peter Hinz, born in 1983 in Genoa, Italy, is a versatile percussionist, composer, and educator whose work is deeply influenced by his travels to Brazil, India, Tunisia, and Turkey. A graduate of the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, where he studied jazz and popular music, Peter is known for his ability to seamlessly blend diverse cultural rhythms and styles, resulting in a unique musical fusion. He collaborates with ensembles such as the Abstrakt Orchester, Camie, and NeckarGanga and has composed for theater productions, showcasing his innovative approach to rhythm and sound. With over a decade of teaching experience, Peter is a faculty member at the International Music Centre, where he teaches drums, djembe, snare drum, and tabla, while also providing lessons in rhythm theory and world music. His teaching philosophy emphasizes technical skill, cultural understanding, and personal expression, inspiring students to explore the connections between tradition and innovation.
